We want to convey Africa's value to the world through manufacturing.

We are not trying to "redefine" value. The value that genuinely exists there is not being adequately communicated at present. That is precisely why we want to deliver it correctly. When many people living in developed countries hear "Africa," they often imagine poverty, drought, or developing nations. Is that impression the whole of Africa?
Africa is the cradle of humanity, a continent embracing rich nature and diverse cultures. Beyond resources, people with creativity and skill are still working with their hands in various places, building their lives. Uzuri aims for "manufacturing" that symbolizes this rich continent, delivering products along with the history and stories behind them. Our mission is to make the fact and pride that humanity's oldest history began in Africa tangible in modern life.
At the same time, it is also true that the African continent faces many challenges, such as a lack of employment opportunities and insufficient infrastructure.
"Our children can't go to school. They have a future. Please, change this situation."
These were the earnest words Uzuri's founder received from a woman he met in a rural village in Kenya.
In many regions of Africa, numerous people cannot secure stable jobs, and the lack of employment opportunities is a major cause of poverty. While over 10 million people newly enter the labor market each year, approximately 70% of them are said to be unable to obtain stable employment. This perpetuates a vicious cycle of poverty, creating a situation where children who cannot receive an education pass on difficulties to the next generation.
To address this issue, we established Uzuri with the vision of "Opportunity for All." Our goal is to promote the consumption of "Made in Africa" products in developed markets and create sustainable employment locally. For young people with dreams but limited means to access them, we believe we can pave the way by "making."
Manufacturing is an industry with high job-absorption capacity; many people can engage in it with proper training, regardless of age, gender, educational background, or disability. Compared to agriculture, it is less susceptible to climate change and can provide stable employment, making it a crucial means of expanding employment in Africa, we believe. Uzuri is committed to creating jobs and providing opportunities locally through the manufacturing process itself.
Handing over beauty and pride generates the next job and connects to the next future.
We will create that cycle.
And finally, we will engrave these words in our hearts as our origin, again and again:
"Our children can't go to school. They have a future. Please, change this situation."
Uzuri exists to answer this call.

Today, remarkable products, artisans, and designers are emerging one after another across Africa—leather bags, accessories, lifestyle goods, art, and fashion. What exists there is not only proven quality, but also the strength of materials nurtured by abundant natural resources, stories and cultures rooted in place, and inherited techniques kept alive through generations.
Yet much of this is still not properly recognized in global markets. It is not because the value is lacking, but because the “system that delivers” and the “storytellers” are not yet sufficient.
Uzuri translates these products into modern living—without compromising the pride of the makers or the integrity of their backgrounds. Materials, craftsmanship, design, and story—by bringing all of these into harmony, we deliver them to markets beginning with Japan, and cultivate them into values that will be loved for years to come.
What we handle is not merely “goods.” It is the time spent working with one’s hands, the skills passed down through generations, the work that supports livelihoods, and the hope carried into the next generation.
With accuracy, strength, and grace, we bring forward Africa’s beauty and potential. Uzuri will continue to walk alongside the makers.
